Tenant Management Co-operatives
Tenant Management is a means by which tenants and leaseholders can collectively take on responsibility for managing the homes and their environment they live in. The tenants / leaseholders involved are able to create an independent group and usually elect a tenant led management committee to run their local area. The tenant Management group can then enter into a management agreement with Caldmore Housing to provide services.
Caldmore Area Housing believes that tenants who form groups and have a constitution can successfully manage their own blocks and building with support from Officers. We believe that tenants should decide how their housing services are provided and run. We are looking at developing Tenant Management Co-operative with existing tenant and resident groups.
The groups can vary in size and the scope of what they would like to manage. Many tenant management co-operatives have groups looking after services like tenancy management, minor repairs, cleaning and caretaking. Tenant Management Co-operative’s are often proactive in providing wider community benefits such as youth facilities, financial support and social clubs.
