A new scheme for men facing domestic violence is soon to open

We are in the process of developing a unique housing scheme in Walsall for men fleeing domestic abuse. This will include men from any background and sexual orientation who need help and support to change their circumstances and escape the abuse they are experiencing.
It is the first of its kind in Walsall and will go some way to highlighting the problem of violence towards men. It will also become part of the National “Refuge On Line” programme accessible to relevant agencies across the country, though priority will be given to Walsall residents.

As with the services for women fleeing abuse we will work closely with relevant agencies to offer a support package to suit the needs of the individual men. The accommodation will also assist men with children or who have access to their children.

The service will be available by end of November 08.
