Getting Work done in an Emergency
Emergency repairs are usually categorised as anything which causes your property to become insecure or unsafe in any way. For example:
- If your main drain system is blocked
- Severe damage to the roof or walls
- Major leak to the plumbing or heating systems
Emergency repairs will be dealt with within 24 hours of you logging the repair request. Please note that you can request emergency repairs works by contacting 01922 614505 and selecting option 1, during the hours of 9.00am – 1.00pm and 2.00pm – 5.00pm. If you need to submit an emergency repair request outside of these hours, the phone will automatically divert to the emergency call out number. This is a 24 hour service so you do not need to wait for normal office opening hours to report the repair. However, if this system is used to report non emergency items you may be required to wait until the next working day and report the item again.
Please note that sometimes the problem may be due to a supply failure and where this is the case you will need to contact your supply company in the first instance. For example:
- If you have no running water (Local water company)
- If you have a gas leak (Transco – see gas safety section)
- If you have a total lack of power (your electricity supply company after checking/resetting the fuses)
When you speak to the emergency operator please be ready to provide the following information:
- The address of the property
- A summary of the problem and why it is an emergency
- Details of anyone in the property who is especially vulnerable
- How we can contact you within the next few hours to access your home – e.g. a mobile phone number or via a supportive neighbour or local family member
